This makes complete sense because
no matter what we do, we aim to
improve.  The whole universe is about
moving forward or evolving.
If we are not evolving then what is the
point of life?  Nothing in the universe is
static because of evolution.  That is
also why nothing is permanent.  Life is
not permanent, our bodies eventually
die.  Civilizations are not permanent.
When we transcend by evolution
(only through consciousness), we
transform as well.  So nothing ever
remains the same.  Constant evolution
means constant transformation.

If we look at the world a century ago
and the world today, there are
many transformations.  These
transformations are the result of
mankind's evolving consciousness.
Mankind's evolution is based on
consciousness, not the physical world.
We cannot expect the physical world to
evolve without the evolution of
consciousness.
For example, all material things are
first consciousness, then they become
physical.  They were first ideas then
ideas materialized.  So in order to
expand or evolve our consciousness,
it must happen within, not on the
physical dimension.
